Operation Homefront Georgia held the third annual 5K run and 1 mile fun run and walk on Saturday, April 9, 2011. The event was a great success and proceeds from the registration contributed to the work of Operation Homefront, providing support for the families of military personnel who are deployed. The spring weather was ideal for the participants, which included men, women and children, and a few pooches. Many of the runners had spouses or friends currently deployed with military units around the world.
Thanks to all the participants and volunteers who joined in to make this year's Yellow Ribbon event another success. Also, many thanks to the sponsors who provided necessary support, including the host location, Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church.
